Haviland

Porcelain encrusted with hand-polished 24-carat gold

The name Haviland has been synonymous with perfection in Limoges porcelain since 1842, when David Haviland left America to construct a factory in Limoges, France.

An entrepreneurial spirit and unlimited talent were combined with innovation in form and decoration and extensive production expertise. Haviland has been showered with numerous distinctions in recognition of its contribution to the art of tableware. For more than 150 years, Haviland has been one of the leading members of the porcelain industry.

The collection encompasses tableware, decorative items ranging from vases and teapots to clocks and candleholders, and “pièces d’exception”. The last category includes among other things a unique collection of animal figurines (“Le Bestiaire”) in white, black or coloured porcelain, issued in limited editions of 50 to 250 units. These “pièces d’exception” from Haviland also include a series of 23 dinner services encrusted with 24-carat gold (“Les Incrustations”) and hand polished using agate stone.
